How to Initiate a Referral?
Once you and your client have made the decision to pursue a referral, the following steps can facilitate a referral for care at Bridges to Recovery.
To begin the process, a treatment professional may call our Admissions Office at 1-866-386-3398. The Admissions Coordinator will guide the referring person and prospective client through the referral process. The Admissions Coordinator will discuss the presenting problems with the caller. The treatment program and options including Bridges to Recovery will be reviewed. If indicated, the Admissions Coordinator will take insurance information and discuss financial arrangement options, which will often require consultation with the client and family.
A Pre-Admission Assessment will take place over the phone with the client. If the client is appropriate for admission, arrangements (travel, logistics, etc.) will be made.
Following the client’s arrival, written consent from the client will be sought in order to contact outside treatment providers and the client’s family. Please be advised that California State mental health law is more strict than the Federal HIPAA guideline with regard to confidentiality of treatment records, and Bridges to Recovery places a high priority client confidentiality. If a client declines to sign a release of information, this will become an issue to be examined carefully by the clinical team.
